Authority Site Case Study – Initial Rankings

Hi mates!

Finally I got my hands on this case study that I planned to start even month ago. If you read my previous posts, it took me lots of time to get the domain indexed, but that never happened.

Several article submission, amazing press release submission were all in vain. Probably that domain was blacklisted even before I bought it year ago.

Finally, recently I moved the whole site to a brand new domain and indexed it in 4 hours. All 25 pages of content ;)

Because of my pretty unpredicted offline life (I’m now again in hospital, recovering after surgery), I’m not planning strict reporting, however my main goal is applying different backlining tactics and analysing the effects. Eventually, I want to see how much time it will take me to get this site to the top positions.

I’m splitting all the keywords into 3 tiers:

tier 1 – main keyword

tier 1 – main keyword long tail variation

tier 2 – product 1 review

tier 2 – product 2 review

tier 2 – product 3 review

tier 3 – 15 keywords/articles (not money pages but have links to money pages).

I’ve tried using Market Samurai to determine site’s position for these all keywords, however it works so slowly and gives inacurate data, that I switched to a really great solution called Rank Checker.

Here are the rankings:

main keyword – 44

main keyword long tail var – 87 (strange but this is my exact domain name)

product 1 review – 62

product 2 review – 41

product 3 review – 89

Now it’s the domain that ranks, not the inner pages for product reviews. But all in all, the ranking are not that deep, and probably there’s a chance to work a bit and move it to the top 10 or even 5.

What’s been done today?

I’ve just submitted 10 articles to Ezinearticles.com. Unf, I could submit more, since my writers are writing content every day, but EZA needs to digest this submission and probably lift my status from Basic Plus to higher. I’ve got 5 more articles that I can submit to EZA now.

That’s it for today, I’ll update the blog once the EZA submissions will move on.

Other news

Seems that after high PR profiles blasts, my rankigns for main site seems to climb up, that eventually results in more sales, now I’m making around 30-100$ daily, which is good. With sales,it’s not as common as with adsense, since clicking is enough to make $, but hard efforts should pay off. As I said before, I see that profile backlinks really count for SERPs.

OK, thanks fro reading my blog, see you soon!
