Hi!
After previous month I’m kind of recovering from being sidetracked, and actually spend more time walking around streets and watching some unrelated to IM stuff on my comp. I supposed to post this weekly update 2 days ago, but all I did was just running Rank Checker.
So here’s the update:
It’s interesting to see how my positions changed over a week, and I did nothing to the site except adding some profile backlinks with SENuke (30 per day). I concentrated on my rebranded version of main keyword, and seems it jumped to position 3, making me new sale of 69.28$.
Other positions have dropped a little, which is OK for a week of doing almost nothing new to the site.
Now I’m in a painful process of deciding which site to concentrate on, since indeed I spread myself too thin and now it’s time to slow down and concentrate my efforts. New sites need to be built, but just building sites is only 1st part of the action, and considering my targeted keyword competition, a lot of maintenance needed to get to the top and stay there.
So, still thinking about the whole thing, I guess it’s better to have low competition keyword that makes 200-300$ a month, instead of “hot” keyword that everybody’s chasing like crazy, and 1 day without backlinking will drop your positions behind more powerful SEO forces.

Interesting observation, Anton. My #1 site is all built on low-compete terms. Also interesting to know that getting top ranks for highly competitive terms requires constant work.
Thanks for sharing your observations, and hope all goes well. Oh, btw, I am going to be fully online as a freelancer first, internet marketer second – so if you need a writer, send me an email. (Please pardon me for using your comment section that way, Anton.)

Hi James!
No problems at all – it’s always OK to offer your services here, thanks and I hope my other readers will also notice this! I saw your last post about this.
I can put a link to your blog on my blogroll, will do that tomorrow as now it’s 3 a.m.
I think that with low competition-moderate traffic keywords you are more successful after all, since no constant work needed to maintain good SERPs. When 100 of other affiliates are chasing the same keyword, usually those win who can bring more backlinks or backlinks of higher quality, which requires a lot of work to find. (or expensive soft like Xrumer etc…)
So, if I’d have a team of 3-5 virtual assistants who could work for me on a daily basis, doing content syndication, blog commenting, forum posting, etc, I could get 1000 backlinks in a month or 2 and dominate some good keywords.
Otherwise, I’m thinking of my current capabilities, soft and memberships I have, experience I have, tricks and tactics I know – and I think “How I can get the best of my current resources?” I thought that keywords I’ve been optmising for are quite hard for me now, I need to work hours upon hours – this is not as effective as if I could get less traffic but get it faster and easier…
1 site making 1000$ but requiring 20 hours of daily work or 1 site making 150$ a month but requiring 3-5 hours total to setup and get tp top 3 ! My past experience showed that hard work doesn’t necessary pays off, since 100-200 other people are also working to beat me…. And getting position 7 after 2 months of constant link building and 175$ in income…. made me think…
