Case Study 1 – “GuyGetsGirl” Campaign Results For 2 Days

I’ve been runnung the “dating” vertical for this campaign for 2 last days. I’ve run 2 different campaigns, one targetting “dating” vertical that I’ve showed, and another one with keywords related not to the product but to the demographics of potential buyers.

Let’s see what we get here:

GuyGetsGirl Direct campaign results

Over 1000 impressions and only 2 clcks, both for “dating tips” keywords. Total a spend is 0.68$. Let’s see which ads got these 2 clicks:

Ads that got clicks

It’s interesting that these 2 ads got 1 click each, and not the ad targeting men.

Ok, what are my thoughts on this situation? First is obvious – tips, advice, guide – informational searches, so people are looking for information here. Keywords are pretty broad, like “dating advice”. What kind of dating advice he’s looking for? Is it HE looking for dating advice, or maybe SHE? You see, there are no clear intent in these keywords. However, they have some traffic… If the CTR was 10%, I could get 100 clicks and made a sale maybe… but the “dating” vertical appeared to be way too broad, and people aren’t interested in this guide, as they see from the ad that it’s not free.

Further steps:

I’ll add all other verticals to my campaign and see how that goes. Next, I think I should go deeper into the visitor intent, and longer-tail variations will probably work better here… I’ll use Keyword Elite tool to find these, but let’s first add all other verticals and see.

My prognisis – the same situation like here, I’ll get many impressions but low clicks.
