as for blog networks it seems to me like the way to go is to either find REAL private networks (not the “private” ones being sold to everyone) or make your own. Because they seem to still work, but the big ones have made G’s radar.

Yes, tequila made me a bit fierce on google, but indeed their algo tweaks don’t make G better – only crushing people’s hard work who created great quality sites and lost all their incomes with these updates.

Yes profile links still work, if done on a moderate scale (not blasts like 1000-2000 and more).

The real factors now are internal site structure, keywords targeted per page and overall content quality.

I have lost rankings for a couple of site that made me money, but others are the same or even stronger – 1 of my adsense boys is now in top 10 for all it’s keywords and bringing me around 15-20$ daily…

But – building more sites is the only strategy that I see as the most viable today – too many changes affecting different areas of seo – so you never know which site will fall into another drop.

Interesting that you say forum profiles still work, I do not use them today, but maybe that is of the reasons my older sites still hit high. Interesting, thanks for the food for thought )

Yes recently google is dancing and shaking but seems this becomes a usual routine for google. I’m still not having a lot of time to get into paid traffic – shame on me

In fact, my backlinking is not too different from what other people are doing (I’ve been heavily reliant on blg networks) – but what I do on a constant basis is analysing other top ranked sites.

You will be amazed to know that for example – strategies using ONLY blogroll links can still bring top rankings, for pretty tough keywords…

But yes – case study is the best way to share the experience, again – apart from sites set-up and content strategies, I’m heavily relying on paid services and spend around $1000-1200 monthly on SEO. This requires further posts!

Nothing can be more depressing than having a solid income stream and discovering that our adsense acc. banned, or top rankings lost in no time.

I’m currently thinking of the ways to disversify – there’re so many traffic sources, like FB, adult traffic, 2-tier PPC engines – and each source requires smart strategy.
