Hi!
This time I’m a bit slow to update the incomes, there are several reasons to this. Anyway, being quiet here means that my workload has increased a lot, due to recent SEO stuff that I’m doing.
I’ve launched several new sites, and more to go soon. I also did a lot of planning, and had to adjust many things.
OK, in this month one of my main sites still didn’t get back to top so it didn’t produce any good income at all. And I rarely checked my stats, thinking that if I make 2000$, that’s good anyway. Well, seems that I’ve mistaken a bit
August 2010 – 4168.05 $
Ok, looks like I cannot write a lot, just have to say that my strategy of diversification across several affiliate networks, offers and products saves me when some major drop happens. Last year, in September 2009, I had 1 good affiliate site and when it was banned by google for no obvious reason, I lost around 50% of my income. The rest was lost after adwords ban. Now I see my site down, and yet my incomes are growing. I’ve simply got several other sites in top 3-5 google now.
Last sites I lauched in the 1st week of August are in top 3 now and getting traffic. Several sites I launched 2 weeks ago, are also growing fast.. There’s some negative side as well – CPA offers are gone, so conversion rates suffer now. I noticed this and now I’m launching several sites for CPA and more sites for more stable offers that are long term. This month I also plan to significantly adjust my backlinking strategy.
Ok, thanks for reading, I hope to update the blog for more hands-on stuff.

Congrats on a great month!
I’d like to to diversify more, I’m too heavy on Amazon sites at the moment. Any advice on getting into CPA sites? I’ve tried to look over CPA programs but it seems like it is hard to know what is available without joining first.

@Giannis, Hey Giannis!
Yes I hope, but CPA sites – I think I’ll shift my business from working with CPA a lot, offers come and go, so it’s not easy to get consistent income ((
You did a great job this month! Tripled your income !

@Carrie, THanks Carrie!
I think if you rank your Amazon sites high, good season is ahead and you’re going to make good income
Btw you can join Offervault for free, and check all CPA offers available across different networks! Once you’re interested in the offer, you can see which networks are currently running it, their commission etc… Plus Offervault is conducting free webinars quite often

@Jared @ Trickle Cheddar, I’ll try
So much work now, need to keep this growing. There are many obstacles on the way, but they make think twice as much and find new ways to achieve goals!

Holy cow, that’s awesome, Anton! Really good news – are you outsourcing your content still?
It’s interesting to watch you and Michelle with these figures and outsourcing.
Looking forward to joining that bandwagon. How many sites does this represent, and how many money pages?
Also, how much traffic are you getting for this? I recall you mentioned using SEO Quake to find good backlinks to copy – believe it or not I’m just now using it (was using SEO for Firefox) – and in that post you mentioned how you didn’t care about the low-traffic numbers…but you went big, is that right?
I guess what I’d like to know is: do you target the harder-to-reach markets and just outsmart the competitors with your SEO strategies?
High fives, Anton – your earnings make me hopeful.

@JamestheJust on Elance, Hi James!
Seems that this month is going to turn into one of the biggest “downs” in my online business – ALL my money are now frozen (as well as of many other clients) due to some enexpected problems with epassporte. This means I cannot even withdraw money to buy food
I’m not even talking about paying to my freelancers, and hosting fees etc… We’re now waiting how they sort this out.
Yes I’m outsourcing my content, now working with only 2 writers that are truly great – nevertheless, I do my own research of information, and give them guidelines what exactly I need in each article, review.
Usually my current sites are 4-5 pages, and later I simply add UAW plugin that posts highly relevant articles from UAW (with backlinks to the authors).
To be frank James, I’m not watching my real traffic
Now concentrating on getting to top 5 or 3. REally, this is 100% honest, I don’t install google analytics at all, maybe it’s just my guess, but I saw many instances of sudden drops in rankings with my own sites, 1 great white hat site was banned completely 1 year ago, since that time I just stay away from it . But it’s bad, I don’t analyse my traffic and cannot proof it if I decide to flip the site.
Installed piwik on my recent site, but I see around 5-10 visits a day from position #4. I didn’t check this keyword in GKT, just watched the trend in google Insights – now offer is gone ( So this is not success.
However, another CPA keyword (I’m #1 now) is getting me 100-150 click-throughs to the offer, so the traffic is 40% more ! (I got 60% CTR in CrazyEgg tracking) It’s not converting high, but I made over 1000$ from this site alone in August.
Yes SEO Quake is really good, SEO for Firefox is also, but SEOQuake allows to sort the data, so I sort by PR and immediately get high PR links from my competition.
Yes I’m trying to outsmart my competition, do this by analysing their backlink strategy with SEO Quake, and then decide my own plan of attack
Considering that keywords I’m targeting now are very popular, and many other marketers are also targeting them , yes these keywords are somewhat harder to reach.. Currently I see top 10 within weeks, but I do some good on-page optimization ALL the time!
In fact, my #1 factor in picking keyword is not traffic – it’s ability to convert into sales. In CPA, I target what’s HOT now, and trending upwards. My local SEO site (UK market) – at the time I created it, there was NO traffic data, but I got info about massive offline promotion of this product. Guess what – now I’m having 3-5 sales a day, August brought me 62 sales and even with small commission, I made over 700$ in pure commissions. However, this is just 1 side of things, and if the popularity dies out, we better have several top positions for more stable and reliable products
So this ignorance of traffic values works well in case of HOT trends, but for more stable products, I’m also checking traffic and competition both.
Michelle offered to write a guide, so I’ll probably get to it, just need to sort out this payment hurdle….

Wow Anton, that’s great! I really want to learn more about how to do CPA (right) – maybe you could publish a beginners tutorial on the topic?

Anton,
It looks as though you had a great month, but it sucks to hear that your earnings are being held in limbo.
Is it due to a particular affiliate program / CPA program you’re using or because of the payment processor you’re using?

@Yolanda @ Paid in Passive.com, Hi Yolanda!
Unfortunately this is payment processor, so all money of it’s clients are now frozen. I’m now sorting this out, looks like it will take them month(s) to resolve this problem. THe only good thing is all money making assets are live and keep bringing income!
