Income Stats – October 2009
Hi everyone!
What I can say to you now? First off, I’m in the hospital – again. Second, after september’s “Kick in the ass” when I’ve lost both my profitable SEO site and profitable long-run campaign, my business is still in big loss. The hard times are still on the go and all I must do now is squeese my teeth and not give up.
After numerous attempts with CB products and PPC I’ve lost 1000$s. Yes I’ve made sales here and there but it was not that kind of profitable and sustainable income that allows you live without day job and be sure you’ve got some cash in the bank.
I need money now – and need badly. It’s not the matter of this f@#king “affiliate dream” that we’re all fed-up seeing on every guru’s sales page…beaches, yachts, dissilent Clickbank accounts… It’s a matter of simple survival for me and my 60-years old mom, who’s still working despite all her ilnesses while I jump from hospital to hospital hoping to restore my own health and losing my affiliate business – the only income stream I’m having now.
This month is not different from September:
Income: 2495,76$
PPC Cost: 3003,31$
Net Loss: 507,55$
ROI: – 16,90%
Now in more details.
1.
I’ve made another stupid mistake of trying to revive my old Clickbank campaigns hoping to turn them into profits THIS TIME. Net result? 83,62$ in sales and 510,14$ in ppc cost.
2.
I’ve tested an interesting offer in Neverblue after talking to my affiliate manager. The offer payout was only 4$ per lead, and it was obvious that the best place to drive traffic is content network. But for some reason ALL content network campaigns on my Google account simply don’t work. I still wait an answer from G stuff on this issue.
So I’ve decided to the craziest thing possible – throw in a bunch of related keywords into Google search and run a campaign. The niche is really competitive, over 50 advertisers for most of my keywords. But I’ve written really great ads that stand out from the competition. Let’s see what it looked like:
6 adgroups and 15 keywords total. Before launching this campaign I calculated that if predicted conversion rate was about 10% (thanks my aff manager
My initial bids need to be about 0.20-0.25$ in order to get 100% ROI. I mean my cost per conversion should be under 2-2.5$. Crazy bids for such a competitive market…. but what happened after I launched my campaign? Google told me that for some of my keywords my bids are below 1st page of results, and really I needed to bump up my bids to be on page 1. It was enough for me since the keywords were good trafficked and I could get leads even from low positions.
Here’s my most expensive adgroup – broad, phrase and exact keywords. Crazy thing to pay 2$ per click when the lead is only 4$ =))) But I tested CPA offer and you see CONSISTENT conversions, I mean WINNING keywords.
Overall, I’ve made 10 leads and 40$ and lost 137,58$ – this is a potential winner, just look at the conversion rate! I can go long-tail or use content network. Still waiting for Google to explain why the hell my cn campaigns aren’t working???
3. Facebook
I’ve tried to run the same 4$ payout offer on Facebook and created my ad – it was approved immediately, but after 800 impressions the campaigns freezed. I need to invest time into “digging” into Facebook advertising more, since my affiliate manager told me some pubs are making a killing just on Facebook.
4. SEO
This need a separate post so I’ll be quick here. I’ve took one of my old landing page for clickbank low gravity product that I unsuccessfully ran on ppc and started to seo it. Started 1 month ago, now my positions are looking like that:
Mostly it’s article marketing, nothing else. I’ll try to update a blog about SEO stuff I hope, now it’s the only hope for me to get free income, but the other sideĀ – this product is low gravity and if it doesn’t fit the market – my efforts are doomed. Don’t wanna think about it now!
Let’s keep struggling and we’ll be the winners!!!

Hey Anton,
Let me know if you figure out what’s up with your content network campaigns. I had tried to run 3 or 4 myself and 1 of them the Image ads never got approved after weeks, and the others just never got any impressions no matter the bid.
Good luck with your biz & health too man.

Hi Ryan!
I’ve had exatly the same issue – none of my content network campaigns (in different niches!) really has taken off… I wrote to Google and they told me if campaign isn’t running it’s considered as poor user experience, I’ll try to find the answer in exact wordings. Simply said – Google now slaps content network campaigns too.
