I’ve just checked my rankings for that SEO experiment that I ran some time ago. I usually check my rankings once a day in Traffic Travis, but what I noticed constantly that this software gives me 0 results for my sites rankings in top 100. I thought that will all my backlinking that I’ve done it simply cannot be this way. No rankings at all? – something strange here…
So, I’ve checked my actual rankings using google global plugin to Firefox and cross-checked it using google ad targeting tool. What I found amazed me, I see the all of my sites on google page 1-2:
site #1 – position 1
site #2 – position 6
site #3 -position 1
site #4 – position 13 main keyword and position 5 of plural variation of main kw (or my actual domain name).
Site #4 has generated 1 sale of ClickBank product several days ago. This is the only site that targets keyword related to the actual product.
So, based on this experiment, all I can say again is repeat my old truth – given the equal competition levels, keywords that relate to the products promoted will convert and keyword not related to the actual products will NOT. I mean, I get traffic yes, and it doesn’t convert 
Reason? Wrong keyword choice, again.
Clickbank hops analysis – in the last 14 days I’ve sent 182 hops to the product, averaging 3 to 23 hops per day. Of 182 people, 9 clicked to the actual order form, and one of them bought the product.
Unfortunately, my sites are designed for this specific product, and I cannot easily change it. I think of other ways of monetizing it, like adsense.

Great news on the rankings, at least! So, your experiment worked, it’s just that you need to have a product-related phrase, then.
Can you give an example? Not exactly, but a simile – I’m not sure I follow what you mean. I have a site dedicated to an activity you can do with a certain product. A brand of this product also has a CJ affiliate or so, and I’m an affiliate of course, so I went back in and wrote content specific to that product.
What I found is that without even changing my permalinks or sitemap, simply by targeting the content to this product, I’ve sold $10k worth of it this last month, which nets me about $700+ this time around.
All I’m saying is that if you take the content and optimize that for the keywords, you can use the same sitemap/pages, but rank for the terms you want….hope that makes sense.
I’ve found that by doing this, I was able to take a site that had only AdSense on it for monetization, and it does well for AdSense, actually, but I’ve also been able to use it for this physical product which makes anywhere from $350-$750 a month extra.

Going to hospital tomorrow… Yes this makes sense definitely! Btw, great results James, 700+ $ monthly is good for the site, just build 3-5 more sites and this is solid income stream!
By product related keywords I mean like, you promote, say, acai berry pure, so you can target what acai can do, like lose weight fast, cleanse body from toxins, improve skin etc… So some of the keywords are how to cleasne toxins from body and like that. But there are also many people looking for information, free info like articles, guides, advises and they are not going to pay for the product. Maybe they want a home recipe for cleansing their colon or like that..
At the same time, it’s better to target produt-oriented audience, people already interested in product. So, what is acai berry pure?
acai berry pills, acai berry supplement, acai berry capsules, free trial of acai berry, acai free bottle.
These terms have much higher conversion rates because they are product oriented, this is what our product is.
If we can find what product does and there are no other products or methods that can do the same, like lose 10 pounds in 3 weeks – we need to convince visitor that our product is best that can deliver this result. But there are also hundreds of ways how people can lose 10 pounds in 3 weeks… Like, extreme diets, or other pills, or some wierd weight loss programs… We don’t know if people ever heard of acai, or if they only prefer lose weight through dieting, not taking pills… or they have already tried acai pills and it didn’t work for them…
people looking for acai pills, acai berry supplement, are much more likely to buy this stuff.

Yeah… I had a bunch of life issues that got in the way of me spending time working online. I’ve got them hopefully worked out though and I’ve been starting to work on my stuff again as of a week or two ago. The adsense sites got sandboxed so they aren’t doing me much good. I plan to work on them soon though.
As for the blog, My shared hosting ran out so I just moved over to a small VPS and don’t really wanna waste resources on it. I might find some simple blog software that wont take up much RAM on the server and use that though. Glad to see you’re doing well with your SEO!
